Ink signature of Oberst and Geschwaderkommodore Dr. Ernst Kühl ( Knight's Cross on 17th October 1942 as Kommodore Kampfgeschwader 55 and with Oak Leaves on 18th December 1943 as Kommodore Kampfgeschwader 55. )

In addition to the afore mentioned decorations Emil Frank was also awarded the Lufwaffe Honour Goblet ( Ehrenpokal ) for outstanding achievement in the air war on the 6th September 1943 and the German Cross in Gold ( DKiG ) on the 26th November 1943.
